Porcelain Veneers
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are a fantastic way to repair or enhance the appearance of front teeth. They can be used to whiten teeth, close spaces and create a great smile. Using veneers, we can even perform virtually "instant orthodontics" to straighten crooked teeth and give you the bright smile you always wanted.
- Reduce or eliminate spaces between the teeth (diastemas)
- Repair broken or chipped teeth
- Whiten dark, yellow, permanently stained or discolored teeth
- Correct misshapen or crooked teeth
With Porcelain veneers it is a 2 visit process to the dentist. At the first visit, a thin layer of enamel is removed from the front surface and sometimes side surfaces of the tooth. A mold of your teeth is taken by a dentist. The mold is taken to a local dental laboratory in Upland, CA to make the permanent porcelain veneer. It usually takes 1 week for the dental Laboratory to make the veneer. The patient usually wears a temporary acrylic veneer between the 2 visits. At the second visit, the temporary veneer is removed. Then the thin porcelain veneer is bonded to your tooth giving it a natural appearance.
